I often carry a camera because I never know when I am going to be excited to create a photograph or find an image that I want to memorialize, those instances, for me, are rarely planned.

My relationship with photography began in Richmond, Virginia, with an oatmeal tin, a small hole, and a grade-school art experiment. Building my first pinhole camera was an early lesson in curiosity: ordinary materials could become a tool for seeing, and a familiar scene could become something worth studying.
